party press release photoIn November, lots of the children from Little Oaks and their siblings had an afternoon full of animal themed fun at the first ever Little Oaks fundraising party. The party was inspired by the children’s love of their Book of the Week, Dear Zoo by Rod Campbell. Jill and the staff at Little Oaks had bought the book to life throughout the start of the term, with story time, role play and lots of creative arts and crafts. The new addition to the pre-school of Biscuit the puppy dog for the children to take care of has also been a hit.

All of the parents got into the spirit of the party bringing the children wearing a huge variety of different animal costumes, from ladybirds and cows to lions and dinosaurs. The party started with an entertainer from CTP (Children’s Themed Parties) engaging the costumed children with imaginative animal inspired games. They played traditional games such as musical statues and pass the parcel with an animal twist. After over an hour of entertainment and everyone building up an appetite, there was a lovely buffet provided by Waitrose in Frimley for the little ones to enjoy. Following the buffet, members of the little oaks committee, manned different stalls for the children including face painting, biscuit decorating, temporary tattoos and a lucky dip. It was a wonderful afternoon watching all the children having fun with their friends.

The party was a huge success raising over £400 in total. As Little Oaks relies entirely on fundraising to buy equipment and resources, this is an invaluable contribution towards the Pre-school and the enjoyment and learning of the children who attend. Many thanks to everyone involved for participating and for your donations and a big thanks to Vanessa who made the initial donation for the party.

We would like to extend our thanks to the following companies who very kindly made generous donations for the party. www.waitrose.com, , www.parties-galore.com, www.partydelights.co.uk and www.ctpparty.co.uk
